About 25 years ago, I bought a sweatshirt that had a saying on it that exemplified the spirit of the U.P. and the people who live there. I have long ago lost the sweatshirt, but the saying still haunts me. The only phrase I can remember from it is... as rugged as their coastline.... I have never seem this again anywhere, but desperately want to know the saying again. If anyone knows how it goes, I would really appreciate hearing it. When people ask me my dream, it is to be teaching in a one-room school house, overlooking Lake Superior, watching the freighters go by. I will settle for retiring there someday. In the meantime I love reading your paper, as it really helps to sooth my soul.
Hoping to hear,
MaryEllen | | | | | |
